I’m a Romanian (gender)queer immigrant, and the way I pronounce my pronouns (“x” pronounced as ks) connects me to that heritage. It’s always a surprise, a welcome balm and relief, given that usually my queer self feels so divorced from the ethnic aspect of my identity.
