I will no longer hide in the shadows and conform to what society “thinks” I should be. It is time I (we) stand up and tell our stories. It is time we show society that we are no different than anyone else around us. And, for those who think that Transgender / Queer service members are incapable of serving in the Military, I am here to prove them wrong. I have served proudly side by side with my peers for over seventeen years, and I am just one of thousands.
We have always been here, and will continue to be here, fighting, so those coming behind us get the rights they deserve. – Our struggles will not be theirs.
